Nutrition Authority offers a variety of nutrition counseling settings and mobile options to help you meet your specific nutrition goals. Nutrition Authority accepts most insurance companies. Insurance coverage varies with each company and every individual plan. While some provide 100% coverage others deny based on the patient not yet having the annual deductible met or it could be denied for not having a qualifying diagnosis. Regardless, many insurance companies do not require a referral from an MD or a qualifying diagnosis. Maybe your insurance company is one of these?

Insurance coverage varies a lot. However, to increase the likelihood of insurance covering the face-to-face consult, it is optimal to have a referral from an MD and a qualifying diagnosis (overweight or obesity is not a qualifying diagnosis). Also, check your employee benefits plan at work.

Some plans cover up to $500 for counseling by a Registered Dietitian per year. Most health Savings Accounts (i.e. flex spending plans) allow you to pay for Registered Dietitian services with these funds.

Medical Nutrition Therapy - Traditional Face to Face Counseling

Counseling for the prevention or management of chronic disease conditions. Most insurance plans are accepted see FAQ section regarding insurance coverage. Insurance will only provide coverage for face-to-face consultations. Phone and internet options are not covered by insurance. Payment plans and/or credit cards are accepted.

YES! Though most nutrition consults involve face-to-face contact with clients, telephone counseling has emerged as a means for Registered Dietitians to deliver 'Relevant and Credible Nutrition Education'.

Research has shown that telephone-based interventions effectively boost nutritional health, prevent relapses and communicate clinical advice, especially for clients with limited access to medical services.

• Specifically, telephone-based counseling encourages significantly greater improvements in fruit and vegetable consumption and lowered dietary fat/salt intake.
• Clinically, telephone-based counseling is associated with improvements in blood lipids and weight management.
• You may want to use telephone-based counseling, to compliment but not replace, traditional face-to-face, in-person care.
• Telephone-based counseling is meant to complement but not replace, traditional face-to-face, in-person care.

With this service I come to your home and provide a customized nutrition plan on healthy eating. This nutrition plan is specific to you. In addition, a thorough 'hands-on' nutrition evaluation is made of your kitchen and alternative food ideas for healthful snacking and meal preparation are suggested. House calls can be one-on-one consultations with an individual, or may include household family members and friends!

Prior to all house calls, all of the necessary paperwork must be completed and returned to Nutrition Authority for evaluation and preparation.

Cart Smart Supermarket Tour

Recipe Nutrition Analysis

Fee: Depends on Quantity and Type of Analysis.

Have a nutritional analysis done on your favorite family recipe. For the retail industry, a confidentiality agreement is provided with every order. Enabling you to know that your recipes are held in strict confidence. Recipe analysis is useful in retail packaging, restaurant menus, cookbooks, catering companies and home meal preparation dinner stores.
